Deerwood Campus

We Make Learning Fun
We are proud of our third generational continuum; a 50+ year, Jacksonville, Florida based, family-owned corporation devoted to premium service in the development of the “TOTAL CHILD.” Our convenient locations offer wholesome environments which provide continuous learning opportunities for our multi-sensory developmental approach to early childhood education.

Welcome to the Deerwood Campus

Chappell Deerwood is the largest center in the Chappell system and holds more than 200 students. Deerwood takes students from six-weeks through VPK, and we take older “grader” children during school holidays and summer camp. The Deerwood location was the first planned child development center built in an office park setting in the United States and opened in 1983.

About Our Campus

Kathe (Kat) Mesete
Kathe (Kat) MeseteDeerwood Director
“I came to Chappell Deerwood in the fall of 2016 and I have been in the childcare business as both an owner and a director for nearly 20 years. I have a B.S. in education from the University of Pittsburg and did my Masters coursework at Temple University. I believe that if I can provide a safe, secure and nurturing environment for children, virtually all will be successful. A fun fact about me is that I was the previous owner/operator of an equestrian center in Palm Coast, where I currently reside with my five children.“
